What we collect

  • Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical data (such as IP address, browser and requested page) to deliver the site and keep it secure. [Hosting provider and retention period — to be supplied.]
  • Analytics. This site does not currently use analytics.
  • Email updates. If you subscribe, your email address and the time you subscribed are delivered to our inbox through FormSubmit, a third-party form-forwarding service that processes the submission in order to deliver it. We use your address only to send development updates about the game, currently managed by hand; to be removed, email us and we will delete it. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Contact form. If you write to us, your name, email address and message are delivered to our inbox through FormSubmit, a third-party form-forwarding service that processes the submission in order to deliver it. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies for tracking or advertising, so there is no cookie banner. Your browser may store minor technical data (for example, to remember your scroll position). If this changes, we will add a consent mechanism before using any non-essential cookies.

Embedded and external content

Trailer videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and are only loaded when you press play. Links to Steam, social networks and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact shipsandshanties@gmail.com to exercise these rights.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest update above.
